The British branding firm, Purple Moon Promotional Products, recently published a list of the 10 richest YouTubers in the world. Unfortunately, none of them is a YouTuber from Africa. Purple Moon compiles a list based on the estimated amount of AdSense YouTuber’s revenue from the number of views per month, excluding revenue through other channels such as the merchandise business that some creators have.
Here is a complete list of World’s Richest YouTubers:
1. PewDiePie
Named Felix Kjellberg, the Swedish YouTuber is often referred to as the ‘king’ of YouTube and is routinely ranked at the top of the richest YouTuber. How not, PewDiePie already has nearly 100 million subscribers. With that many subscribers, the number of views per video will also be high so that it helps boost AdSense revenue. As a result, the YouTuber, a creator of gaming and meme content, can make up to 6.5 million pounds (about ₦2.8 billion naira) a month.
2. Dude Perfect
In second place is Dude Perfect, a channel that often uploads unique ‘lifehack’ videos. The channel, which was initiated by five men, has nearly 45 million subscribers with a monthly income of 2.8 million pounds (about ₦1.2 billion naira).
3. VanossGaming
Next is VanossGaming, a Canadian gaming YouTuber that has nearly 25 million subscribers. YouTuber, whose real name is Evan Fong, usually plays the first-person shooter game Call of Duty Online and can earn up to 2.1 million pounds (about ₦934 million naira) each month.
4. DanTDM
British gamers, Daniel Middleton, is in the next position. Through the DanTDM YouTube channel, he usually creates Fortnite and Minecraft game contents. According to Purple Moon estimates, Daniel earned around 2.1 million pounds (about ₦935 million naira) per month from YouTube.
5. JuegaGerman
JuegaGerman is a YouTuber and musician from Chile. He makes comedy content and some Minecraft gameplay. He also played the voice of the big elephant named Julian in the Spanish version of Ice Age: Collision Course. JuegaGerman has 36 million subscribers and can earn up to 1.8 million pounds per month or (about ₦801 million naira).
6. Markiplier
Next is gaming YouTuber with a channel called Markiplier. The man from Hawaii, whose real name is Mark Edward Fischbach, usually makes various PlayStation 4 (PS4) gameplay videos. He already has 24 million subscribers and his income from YouTube is around £1.7 million (about ₦756 million naira).
7. Collins Key
The magician and alumni of America’s Got Talent talent search event are in the next position. On the channel with his own real name, Collins Key, this man from the US often makes prank videos, comedy, and content tips and tricks. YouTube channel Collins Key has 19 million subscribers with an income of 1.7 million pounds (about ₦756 million naira) per month.
8. Jacksepticeye
A YouTube channel with an iconic eye logo, JackSepticEye, perched in this position. YouTuber whose real name is Sean McLoughlin is a man born in Ireland. The videos he uploads daily gameplay videos as well as live-action and sketch comedy videos. His YouTube channel now has 22 million subscribers and per month, he can print around 1.3 million pounds (about ₦578 million naira).
9. Smosh
In this position comedian duo Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox who joined the channel named Smosh. This YouTube channel often uploads comedy videos, outpoured content with a series called ‘Sketches’, and parodies of popular music videos. This channel has managed to attract as many as 25 million subscribers and is estimated to gain revenues ranging from 1.3 million pounds or (about ₦578 million naira).
10. Atta Halilintar
The man who is known for his eccentric style is a YouTuber with the largest number of subscribers in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Every day, this man from Riau usually makes prank or nosy content, comedy content. Atta Halilintar’s YouTube channel is now followed by 18 million subscribers. Per month, he is expected to reap revenues of up to 1.3 million pounds, equivalent to ₦578 million naira only from YouTube alone.
